Spice Girls feud: reunion may be cancelled due to Geri Halliwell’s beef with Mel B
It seems like friendship does end. The ongoing feud between Mel B and Geri Halliwell might have put the Spice Girls’ much-anticipated reunion in jeopardy.
According to a source, Geri has walked away from the music group. They were preparing for a reunion that would include Mel B (49), Geri (52), Emma Bunton (48) and Mel C (50). There were also rumours that Victoria Beckham (50) might make a cameo appearance.
But it seems the much-anticipated reunion has been cancelled because of issues Geri’s facing with her husband, Formula One chief Christian Horner (50), and group infighting.
“Geri has had enough to deal with after all the drama with her husband’s relationship with his assistant – it has been a tough enough time – and she’s just lost patience with Mel and her little digs and jibes,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“She’s walked away, and without Geri, it’s really not going to happen. In the past she’s been a driving force in the group, but she doesn’t want to deal with Mel at all at the moment, let alone share a stage with her.”
Geri’s been married to Horner since 2015. Early this year there were reports of alleged “inappropriate behaviour” between Horner and his assistant. He was cleared after an investigation and the assistant, who was suspended, has since returned to work.
Geri and Mel’s relationship has been in the spotlight over the past couple of years.
In May when Mel celebrated her birthday, Geri posted old pictures of the pair with a birthday message. The caption read, “Sent images to Pippa and this wording asked her to tweak where needed. Happy Birthday @officialmelb ! Hope you have an amazing day!”
