Royal expert explains why Meghan Markle intentionally distances Prince Harry’s children from Royal Family

Royal expert Hugo Vickers believes that Meghan Markle intentionally distances her and Prince Harry‘s children, Archie and Lilibet, from the Royal Family to maintain control over their upbringing.

Since the couple stepped back from royal duties and settled in California following “Megxit” in 2020, they have been raising their children far from the influence of the monarchy, embracing a distinctly American lifestyle.

An insider suggests that Meghan and Harry hold contrasting views on parenting. Meghan reportedly wants to raise Archie and Lilibet as “true Americans,” while minimizing their exposure to royal traditions.

Vickers has argued that by keeping their lives centered around California, Meghan is able to maintain a sense of control amid the complex challenges and public scrutiny faced by the couple since leaving their royal roles.

The expert expressed regret over Archie and Lilibet’s limited connection to their royal heritage, noting that they have had little exposure to their British roots and have not been part of significant royal events.

This decision, according to Vickers, may mean they miss out on a fuller understanding of their family history and cultural identity.

Meghan has also refrained from traveling back to the UK, and she hasn’t allowed the children to make the trip with Harry, further distancing them from their royal relatives.

As a result, Lilibet has never met her grandfather, King Charles III, and the children’s connections to their British family remain minimal.

“I mean, I’m sure [Meghan just] wants to be in control,” he told The Sun.

“I think the problem for the children, as I see it, is that yes they’re probably having a very nice time being brought up in California. I’m sure it’s a lovely place to be brought up,” Hugo said.

“But there’s going to come a point when they realise that they are actually cousins to the British Royal Family, and that they could have taken part in all the sort of things that Prince William’s children take part in.

“And you know they don’t, even, as far as I can see, know, their cousins at all, and that surely must be quite tricky and disappointing really, for them.

“They talk a lot about family values and things, but remember, it’s not only the King as one grandfather that they haven’t met.

“They haven’t met Meghan Markle’s father, either, who only lives 70 miles away. And we know he’s very upset and distressed about that.

“I mean, it is nice for children to meet their grandparents, because it’s all part of being a member of a family.

“It’s really up to Prince Harry to make the effort. If he wants his children to meet him [Charles], he should make the effort to bring them across.

“Simple as that. The King would, I’m sure, always make time for him if he did that, but there doesn’t seem to be a great willingness to do so.
