Prince Harry receives a severe blow that ends his paranoid version of being a victim of espionage
Prince Harry’s claim he was bugged by hidden devices from The Sun newspaper have been dismissed by a London High Court judge after the Duke of Sussex provided no evidence of his allegations in the legal action.
The 40-year-old kicked off the proceedings against the British tabloid in 2018 when he accused them of using electronic devices to “bug” and “track” his location and movements, going as far to install a listening device into a friend’s vehicle, before later dropping the claim.
He also suggested his devices were hacked in a bid to learn secrets to his life, however he lost the case when the High Court justice ruled a lack of substantiation an hit out at him for making “generalized” claims without precise evidence.
“Permission is refused for the allegations of planting bugs in rooms and residences and bugs or tracking devices on cars,” the judge said in a statement to the parties. “As no particulars whatsoever of such allegations have been provided.”

That doesn’t mean that all of his quests against the British papers have been unsuccessful, however, as in December 2023 he won $180,000 from Mirror Group Newspapers concerning an “extensive” phone hack.
British press have regularly produced news on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with the pair feeling as though it took a significant toll on them and even proved to be the deciding factor of their decision to relocate to the United States.
There, they can at least ignore the noise of the press within the United Kingdom and the pair seem to be doing better mentally, although they are struggling to break out and make it big time within California.
