Naomi Osaka signs up for first WTA Queen’s since 1973

Naomi Osaka is set to highlight the return of women’s tennis to the Queen’s Club as the HSBC Championships organizers announced the former world No. 1 as a participant of this year’s tournament.

This year, the Queen’s Club is set to host a WTA tournament for the first time since 1973.

The WTA 500 tournament will take place the week after the French Open – between June 09-15 – while ATP Queen’s will run in its usual date and be held between June 16-22.

When it was confirmed that Queen’s would also host a women’s tournament in 2025, the decision was met with a lot of excitement.

And with Osaka signing up for the event, it is clear that the organizers are keen on having a very strong and exciting player field for their comeback year.
