Prince Harry and Meghan Markle urged to ‘step on the gas’ as expert sends Netflix warning

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been urged to “step on the gas” and produce show-stopping content for Netflix, as their contract with the California-based streaming platform ends next year.

The pair penned their deal with Netflix in 2020 but with it up in 2025, the couple are each producing programmes for the streaming giant now amid speculation surrounding another contract.

Neither of their respective shows involves the other, with Harry featuring in a polo documentary and Meghan’s new programme focusing on “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.”

Royal commentator Caroline Aston told GB News that Netflix bosses are concerned that Harry’s role in the Polo show is limited.

She told the broadcaster: “I’m sure Netflix was hoping for lots of footage of a sweat glazed Prince Harry pounding around the polo field, mallet in hand.

“But it turns out to have far more footage of his great friend Nacho Figueras. A very handsome 47-year-old Argentinian polo player who speaks English in a wonderfully sexy, romantic, broken accent.”

“I think behind the scenes, they’re calling it ‘The Nacho Show’. Netflix, I think, want more bang for their buck.

“Don’t forget that £80 million contract is up for renegotiation next year. If there is some new branding going on, they better step on the gas.”
