Meghan Markle’s ex-bodyguard ‘felt sorry for her’ as he reveals what royal is really like

Steve Davies, who worked closely with the Duchess of Sussex when she first joined the Royal Family, has defended Meghan against multiple claims of bullying from staff members. He insists that these allegations are far from the truth.

“She gets a bad rap for being a not very good person to work with, that she was this evil person in the Royal Family,” he said. However, Steve remembered her as someone who engaged with people from all walks of life, from “working with charities to working with dog walkers and cleaners.”

The former bodyguard recalled instances of being followed by drones and vehicles, describing it as a “nightmare”. The Duchess of Sussex was also denied freedoms she had previously enjoyed.

Steve, who once worked closely with Meghan Markle, reminisced about a time when the Duchess expressed a simple wish: to shop at a grocery store like anyone else. He recounted, “I pushed the cart around the grocery store, and she was putting stuff in it. She really enjoyed that.”

Meghan has openly discussed the constraints she felt as a member of the Royal Family. In a candid interview with CBS in 2021, she revealed, “I couldn’t call an Uber to the palace. You couldn’t just go.”
