King Charles’ sad message after latest doctor’s orders for his cancer: Everything happens faster than you think

During a rare and candid moment, King Charles surprised many when he received a group hug from the New Zealand women’s rugby team, known as the Black Ferns.

The players, in England to face off against the Red Roses, enjoyed a memorable reception with the monarch at Buckingham Palace.

The warm interaction began when Black Ferns player Ayesha Leti-I’iga made a cheeky request for a hug from the King.

“A hug? Why not?” Charles replied.

Before he knew it, he was being swarmed by the players for a group embrace. He later referenced the moment during his speech.

“I much appreciated this chance to meet you and have such a warm hug from most of you,” he joked.

“It was very healing.”

The reception came as details were announced about King Charles’ upcoming tour to Australia and Samoa for a Commonwealth leaders’ summit.

However, the King shared his disappointment that he would not be visiting New Zealand due to medical advice following his cancer diagnosis.

“I’m extremely sorry I can’t come to New Zealand in later October because of doctor’s orders,” he told the players.

“But I hope there’ll be another excuse to come before too long.

“Give my love to New Zealand, please, and New Zealanders.”

In a poignant moment, King Charles offered some thoughtful advice to the rugby players about their time on the team.

“I hope you make the most of your time in the team because you don’t stay young for very long,” he warned.

“It all goes quicker than you think.”
