Expert Criticizes Prince Harry and Meghan’s Social Media Launch as ‘Arrogant’ and ‘Premature’

Meghan Markle has faced criticism for her lack of social media activity after launching a new page, despite her current efforts to develop her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. The Duchess of Sussex, who has been relatively quiet about updates on the brand, has left some experts questioning her social media strategy.

Royal expert Richard Eden shared his thoughts with the Daily Mail, expressing disappointment in Markle’s approach. “Anyone knows you don’t launch a social media account and then do nothing,” he remarked. Eden pointed out that the purpose of social media is to engage and interact with followers, something he believes Markle is not taking advantage of. “The arrogance of it really, just like ‘here we are and we’re not going to do anything.’ The whole point of social media is it’s social, and you socialize.”

Eden went on to suggest that Markle’s new page may have been launched prematurely. “It’s definitely been launched before it’s ready; that’s kind of self-evident,” he explained. “I think it’s next year when something might happen. Essentially, it’s all about impatience.”

The royal expert’s comments highlight the importance of consistency and engagement when building a brand on social media, something he feels Markle’s team has yet to master. Eden’s critique also underscores the expectation placed on public figures like Markle to maintain a visible and interactive presence online, especially when promoting new ventures.
