Meghan Markle issues damning comment as she hits out at life inside the Royal Family
Meghan Markle has hit out at her time in the Royal Family as she admitted she was “so uncomfortable”.
The Duchess of Sussex joined The Firm when she tied the knot with Prince Harry back in 2018. Sadly, Meghan had a tough time as a working royal and even snuck away to New York City to escape the drama.
In 2019, Meghan traveled to the Big Apple to watch her close pal Serena Williams play in the US Open. Meghan has now said she was seeking “safety” when she left London to see her friend as she visited the opening of a new bookstore, Godmothers, in her Montecito neighborhood.
“For me, sneaking to New York five years ago was a really big deal,” Meghan said at the event. “I was still so uncomfortable being out in the world.”
According to Town and Country, she added: “The safety of what I was craving, I knew I could find in a bookstore.” Godmothers is co-owned by literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and cosmetics mogul Victoria Jackson.
Meghan returned to the bookstore ahead of its official opening and looked great as she browsed the shop. She wore a straw sun hat and blue sweater and added a gold Cartier Juste un Clou necklace and a pair of Ray-Ban aviators.
