Prince Harry’s Subtle Dig At King Charles: ‘Meghan And I Were Upfront, Unlike “Others” We Didn’t … ‘ After Explosive Oprah Interview

Prince Harry has once again stirred the royal pot, this time with a subtle jab at King Charles while reflecting on the controversial 2021 Oprah interview.

In his memoir Spare, Harry made it clear that, unlike other members of the royal family who often rely on anonymous “palace sources,” he and Meghan Markle chose to be open about their side of the story.

“We were upfront about it,” Harry wrote. “I told them that I failed to see how speaking to Oprah was any different from what my family and their staff had done for decades – briefing the press on the sly, planting stories.” He didn’t stop there, calling out King Charles’ 1994 collaboration with Jonathan Dimbleby and even mentioning Camilla’s involvement with editor Geordie Greig, reported the Express.

In what seems like a direct comment on the royal family’s media tactics, Harry added, “The only difference was that Meg and I were upfront about it. We didn’t once hide behind phrases like ‘Palace sources’… We let people see the words coming out of our mouths.” The contrast was clear: Harry and Meghan spoke openly, while the palace, according to Harry, relied on behind-the-scenes strategies.
