One thing Prince William ‘fell in love with’ when he met Kate Middleton

Prince William, initially a reserved figure at St Andrews university in Scotland, transformed into the engaging senior Royal we see today after meeting his future wife, Kate Middleton.

The loss of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, at just 15 left him with profound grief.

Yet, it was his relationship with Kate that helped him evolve into the charismatic and devoted family man recognised globally.

Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe shared insights with OK! magazine about the Prince’s transformation, highlighting an unexpected aspect of Kate that captured William’s heart.

Larcombe revealed, “It’s easy to underestimate the role the Middletons have played in William’s life,” noting that William didn’t just fall for Kate but also her family.

“They were the family he has never had the mum, dad and three kids spending time together and going on family holidays. It was a new world he’d not experienced before.”

The biographer pointed out that William’s eagerness to become close to the Middletons was a significant factor that drew Kate to him, as it demonstrated his commitment to embracing both her and her cherished family.

According to Duncan, both William and Kate’s bond strengthened due to their mutual understanding and similarity in personalities.

He said: “William was really very starry-eyed about Kate and they brought out the best in each other in many ways. William is quite shy and can be reserved around new people.

He’s very cautious, and in that way they are quite similar characters. Their relationship blossomed on spaghetti Bolognese and rain-swept beaches.”

Having grown up in the public eye alongside King Charles and Princess Diana, Prince William was drawn to the Middletons offer of a more normal life.
